Teaching

Professor Maddux teaches a variety of topics relevant to managing and leading people in the modern global business world, and has extensive experience with undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, PhD, and executive audiences. His expertise covers topics such as Leadership, Culture, Group and Team Dynamics, Decision-Making, Virtual Communication, Power and Influence, Feedback, Motivation, Negotiations, and Dispute Resolution.

He currently teaches an elective on Global Leadership in the full-time MBA program, as well as a Negotiations course for undergraduates and MBAs. He also teaches an Introductory Social Psychology course in the PhD program.

Prof. Maddux has extensive experience in executive education, having done program direction, teaching, and/or consulting with a variety of prominent international organizations, such as Astellas, Clifford Chance, Diageo, ExxonMobil, FIVES, Grunenthal, Imerys, Janssen, L’Oreal, Marriott, Novant, NYSE/Euronext, Pernod Ricard, Stibbe, Takeda, and UNICEF.

He is an award-winning teacher, having received the Dean’s Commendation for MBA Teaching while at INSEAD, and also being named an MBA Teaching All-Star at UNC Kenan-Flagler.
